Space Available, Projection, Window display into Empty Retail Space, Providence, RI, 2018

Paolino, the real estate company, who owns the property had an original window display advertising the space: “2,500 SQ FT OF SPACE AVAILABLE, A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A RESTAURANT.” The project translates the meaning of 2,500 SQ FT into multiples of measurements, calculating other units that can fill the space1 restaurant, 2 classrooms, 4 studio apartments, 1,000 people, and 8,495,000 US gallons of water. These twelve different uses of the space were projected through the outside of the window.


부동산 업체, Paolino 가 사무실 매물에 “2,500 평방피트의 레스토랑으로 사용하기에 최적의 공간”이라는 광고문구를 게시한 것에서 착안한 이 프로젝트는 사무실의 2,500 평방피트 만큼의 용적을 하나의 레스토랑, 2개의 교실, 4개의 원룸, 1000명의 사람들, 8,495,000 갤런의 물 등 여러가지 단위들로 표현한다. 공간에 대한 열두 가지 해석은 전면창을 통해 사무실 내부로 투사되었다.
