Dancing on the Trackpad is a project building a notation system to map the movements of trackpad gestures and alter it into a performance. The system of notation is created based on Labanotation, which is a dancing notation of traditional ballet. The project transcribed functional hand gestures on the trackpad,such as running a Google search for “smiley”or sending a friend request on Facebook, into the notations.
Dancing on the Trackpad 는 트랙패드 위에서의 손동작을 기호화하고 퍼포먼스의 형식으로 제시하기 위해 만들어진 표기체계이다. 전통 발레의 안무체계인 Labanotation 을 참조하여 제작한 이 프로젝트는 트랙패드 위에서 손의 기능적 동작들(가령, 구글에서 smiley를 검색하거나 페이스북에서 친구요청을 하는 행위 등)을 체계적인 기호로 표기한다.
