Body Calligraphy, Letters Design by Potter’s Wheel 
(Movement Capturing Program), 2020

Body Calligraphy is a letter drawing project by capturing certain body movement and postures. Potter’s Wheel, developed by Wei-Hao Wang, traces, accumulates body movement into a visual element. Analyzing the interaction between the body movement and the program(departure position, direction, and speed of walking), the project developed the manual to draw a certain character with the body.


Body Calligraphy 는 몸의 동작과 자세를 수집하여 활자를 제작하는 프로젝트이다. 웨이-하오 왕이 개발한 프로그램, Potter’s wheel은 몸의 순간적인 동작을 포착하고, 초단위로 축적하여 하나의 시각적 결과물을 만든다. 프로그램과 몸동작의 상호관계을 분석하여 신체의 움직임으로 활자를 표현할 수 있는 매뉴얼을 제작하고, 만들어진 규칙에 따라 알파벳을 그렸다.
